The Applied Side: How to Run Projects 8 ECTS

This module will introduce you to selected project management tools which you will apply in networked, team-based projects with your peers throughout the module. You will be familiarized with the project life cycle, projects' organizational structure and organizational behavior. The module is designed to provide you with tools for goal setting, planning, controlling and evaluating projects and applying these tools in exercises and case scenarios. Overall, this module will help you to improve your conversation and negotiation skills in intercultural contexts, to gain knowledge in conflict management, and to apply tools of co-operation for successful team work.

Instructed by: Anna Royon-Weigelt/Danuta Janicka-Mierzwa

The Applied Side: How to Bargain in Global Politics 8 ECTS

Are you ready to walk in the shoes of diplomats and peace brokers? This module introduces you to major bargaining tactics and negotiation strategies in global politics. In addition you will apply your theoretical knowledge to a real-time negotiation simulation during in-house classes. You will be briefed about a conflict situation in global politics that needs to be managed within the international and transnational community. You will become a delegate of a foreign country and impersonate your government's interests in a particular policy conflict. Throughout the negotiations you will have to show your communicative and intercultural competence – it is not easy to pursue a common goal at the negotiation table while simultaneously preserving your own interests.

Instructed by: Simon Raiser and Björn Warkalla (Planpolitik e.V.)
