Victoria Stead

Changing Global Landscapes: Globalization Challenges


Victoria Stead is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Citizenship and Globalization of the Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Ms. Stead’s background is in politics and history, and her primary area of interest is contemporary social movements and political mobilization. She completed her Honours degree at La Trobe University in 2006. She is an interdisciplinary researcher, using the instruments of the Anthropology, Social Theory and Political Science and specializing in social transformations generated by Globalization, state- and nation-building processes. Her particular interest concerns the changing forms of social connection to land and transforming relationships to power in the context of the processes of change. Ms. Stead’s work has a strong Pacific focus, she conducted fieldwork in Papua Guinea, Timor-Leste and Vanuatu, as well as in Australia.
